That’s strange I was thinking of him this morning when doing my morning shit. I thought that he could be described as ‘a tough tackling midfielder who wouldn’t win any NOBLE peace prizes’ as the turds tumbled out of my arse and plopped away into the pan.
Saw him on a train to shenfield once, irons

Retire? Not yet. Another season as club captain in limited role on pitch. Every team is made up of a variant of components. He’s a leader. No one else stepping up to the plate as yet.

Worst captain since Upton. Shame he's not 43, although it fucking feels like it.

Still our best CM. When he plays well we generally win.
He hasn't played well much this season.....

Think he has another season as a squad player and leader around the group. After that if I was in charge of a Championship club looking to get promotion I’d get him in to perform a role like Nolan did for us getting out of that division. Not sure what his long term plans are but I’d like to see him in some sort of role around the club when he retires on the coaching staff.
Happy birthday as well Take it easy though , the silly cunts at the PL seem to want us to play again soon

Reminder (not that we need it) that just to stand still we need 2 or 3 new first team players.

Shame his last proper season has been fucked by C-19.
Bit part next year, retirement or down a division or two the next.
Of course, down a division could see him still turning out for us...

Tough crowd.
Still, I wish our Captain the very best. He's maybe not one of West Ham's most talented players of recent years. But he's still one of our greatest of recent years.
Whatever happens next, I hope he remains at the club in some capacity.

Those who have predicted his demise as a first choice player with glee for the last 6 or 7 years are finally going to get their wish.
He's not Billy Bonds, and the average player is fitter than in Bonds' day. He hasn't got another 9 years in him. Probably not even 9 months.
It is sad.

Very much a steady Eddie type of player who always gets a 6 or 7 out of 10 in the Sunday papers. Will likely never see a player of his ilk agin though in regards to his passion and loyalty to the club. Lacks the athleticism and mobility to be a real top drawer modern midfielder but still adds to the team with his tenacity drive and passing ability. Would love to of seen him turn out for England and there have been far worse than him who have, he would of embraced the opportunity I’m sure and capped a fine career.
